While it’s safe to say that many manufacturers in the industry have stuck to their guns the past few years with many of their product lines, there are some great new things on the market for 2013 as well as some tried and true classics here at Swimtown Pool Supplies that you’re going to want to take a close look at.

Grand Entry Wedding Cake Pool Steps – wedding cake pool stepshttp://www.swimtownpools.com/Grand-Entrance-Pool-Step-For-In-Ground-Pool-p/ne1085.htm Easy to make a level install with these fabulous steps. Resin handrails are sturdy and water flow through stops ugly algae growth.

saltron retro chlorinator

Saltron Retrohttp://www.swimtownpools.com/Saltron-Retro-Saltwater-Chlorinator-p/nc3063.htm There are a lot of advantages to moving to a saltwater pool but many people we talk to are scared off thinking it will be difficult to make the switch. Whether you have an above ground or an in ground pool, though, the Saltron Retro Chlorinator makes it a relative snap to enjoy the benefits of a saltwater pool.

Stabilized chloring tablets – http://www.swimtownpools.com/Protech-3-Stabilized-Chlorine-Tabs-Wrapped-50Lb-p/668101397.htm – Want to know what we sell the most of? This stuff. These things have 90% active chlorine and dissolve slowly. A slow dissolve can be helpful when you get blistering hot temperatures like we have last summer. Our site was flooded with people trying to figure out why their pool water was so cloudy and the biggest cause was the heat evaporating all the chlorine. If the summer starts out hot, you’ll want to stock up.

Pro Series Poolsnot intex, this is a pro series poolhttp://www.swimtownpools.com/proseries-metal-frame-pools-s/1468.htm  The launch of Intex and other metal frame pools have lowered the entry level of cost for people looking to beat the heat this pool season. With several options and upgrades available, the Pro Series offers a sturdy entry level pool for some good ol’ fashioned family fun.

A new solar coverhttp://www.swimtownpools.com/solar-pool-covers-s/292.htm  Especially if you have an above ground pool, it’s worth avoiding the hassle and eyesore of throwing your old beaten, torn up solar cover back on the pool. Trust us, your neighbors are judging you.

– “Robotic pool cleaners are SOOOOOO expensive.” Not all of them. The Shark Vac gets the job done at an entery level price point. You’ll be impressed with what you get for the cost.

If you haven’t had a chance to head over to the main Swimtown Pools website lately, you may have missed our recent addition of Heatwave Infrared Saunas (available at http://www.swimtownpools.com/heatwave-saunas-s/1557.htm) to our product listings. Many people enjoy a quick trip to the sauna while at the gym or spa, but have never thought about adding one in the comfort of their own home. These affordable saunas start at under $1,000 and offer a myriad of health benefits. Let’s run them down:

  • Short term weight loss. While it’s not real weight loss, if you have a hot date and want to fit into an outfit a little easier, the sauna can help you shed a bit of water weight in the short term.
  • Long term weight loss. No, a sauna isn’t necessarily a direct hit for weight loss, but it can ratchet up your metabolism, which always helps. Additionally, all that sweating will help reduce toxins in your system and help your body run more efficiently and aid in your weight loss efforts.
  • Stress relief. The world continues to get louder, more crowded and move faster. This is the number one health benefit cited in most studies of sauna users. Between the warmth and the quiet, few things relieve stress like a sauna.
  • Disease reduction. Sound crazy? Well, consider the fact that the majority of diseases are stress related.
  • Pain reduction. Sauna heat will increase the dilation of your blood vessels and increase circulation which in turn aids the healing process.
  • Improved sleep. Jacking up your body temperature in the evening will typically lead to a drop later at night and allow you to get a deep sleep. Studies back up the restful sleep gained by regular sauna use.

Sound intriguing? Take a look, one person models start as low as $837.95 at www.swimtownpools.com.

If you own a business with a pool or work at a facility with a pool it’s most likely you’ve learned about the ADA pool accessibility regulations that need to be complied with By January 31, 2013. If not, well, you better take note, as the penalty for failing to meet these regulations could land you a whopping $55,000 fine. Needless to say, that might be a tough start to 2013 that you don’t want to have to deal with.

Assuming you’ve got plans to buy an ADA compliant pool lift, the other thing you’re going to need to figure out is who’s going to install it.

We’ve fielded thousands of phone calls on this issue, and one thing we keep hearing is that it’s difficult to find an installer for a pool lift. So, being the good Samaritans that we are, we’ve come up with a solution – The Pool Lift Installer Directory.

We’ll be reaching out to companies in the coming weeks to be listed, but in the meantime, if you yourself are an installer or know someone who is, please add them to our directory.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, it hasn’t completely warmed up across the country just yet, but aside from just pool supplies, we get the feeling there are a lot of other goodies we can get you guys set up with depending on who you are, where you’re from and what sort of stuff you like. For example! (We’re starting with pools because that’s what we know, so leave us alone!) Okay, for your pool and/or back yard:

  1. Item number one, a salt water pool system (available here). Seriously, it’s a bit of an expense up front but in the long haul it saves you a ton of money on additional chemicals and a lot of work. Highly recommended.
  2. ProSeries Pool (buy one here). Don’t want the expense of an in ground pool? Intex Pools too flimsy? ProSeries pools are sturdy, inexpensive, and still keeps you and the kids cool.
  3. How about a blisteringly fast pontoon boat? Someone on our staff saw the videos on the site of Manitou Boats and we were shocked at how fast these things go (see the videos here, this stuff is bananas!)
  4. Helicopter. Just seems like a convenient way to beat traffic. I googled “helicopter for sale” and this was the first thing that came up: http://www.globalplanesearch.com/view/all/AllHE.htm If you get a two for one deal, we’ll take the freebie.

So that’s everything. Those are literally the only things you’ll need to get through the summer. If you think we missed something, you’d be wrong, but you’re welcome to let us know in a comment below! 😉
